It’s taken me a long time to call myself a restaurant owner / food truck operator. Why? Because my background is in ‘community development’ & human rights education. But after 8 years in business – I think I can finally embrace it … but only as a restaurant with ‘community’ firmly embedded in our bones.

After living in many countries, including South India, I returned to my forest home in the Dandenong Ranges with my Indian hubby, Max. Together, we established a market stall cooking ‘dosa’ – eventually leading us to cook at large festivals across Victoria and finally opening our first restaurant in Belgrave showcasing the food of the South Indian state of Kerala.

These days, we cook mainly at corporate events and weddings, with the odd music festival and  I’m grateful that the restaurant is buzzing.

Days off and you’ll me swimming, hanging with our dogs, op shopping and going on little road trips. I need to get better at days off and have made a good start this 2023!
